FIRST LADY OF KWARA STATE DISTRIBUTES SCHOOL SANDALS TO STUDENTS ACROSS VARIOUS PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE STATE

SIP Convener Ibrahim Kale Jimoh Applauds First Lady's Support for Student Welfare.

The First Lady of Kwara state and Chairperson of Nigeria Governors spouses Forum, Amb. Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq has reaffirmed the right of every child to access quality and affordable education, healthcare and other basic necessities for a better life in a conducive atmosphere.

Amb. Abdulrazaq made the affirmation at the event of school sandals distribution to students and pupils across public schools in the three Senatorial districts in Kwara state held on Sunday 14th September, 2025 at the Office of the First Lady, Government house Ilorin.

The First Lady explained that the children’s footprints have  a significant impact on the society as those prints convey them towards a shining future while stating that the initiative is aimed at ensuring comfort for school children where they can joyfully walk to their classrooms, ready to learn and excel irrespective of their backgrounds. 

Amb. Abdulrazaq said her office and the Ajike people support center have been working intensively over the years on numerous social improvement schemes such as scholarship programs, school supplies, family support programs, skill acquisition and empowerment programs among others to complement the government's efforts at ensuring that no child is left behind, as she further pledged continuous support to champion advocacies to protect children from all sorts of social vices while admonishing the students to be good representatives of their families and society at large. 

The Convener of the sandals initiative programme(SIP) Mr. Ibrahim Kale Jimoh in his remarks explained that the initiative is aimed at providing sandals for students who need them at no cost to enable easier learning and convenience for them, as he further appreciated Amb. Olufolake Abdulrazaq for making the donation for the procurement of the sandals. 

Also, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe in his remarks described the initiative as an applaudable and timely one and further commended the First Lady for supporting students school needs and promoting locally made products. 

In thesame vein, the Chairman (SUBEB) Prof. Adaramaja also thanked Amb. AbdulRazaq for her continuous support towards education improvement programmes in the state which is a core agenda in Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq's administration.

The event was attended by Wife of the speaker of the state Assembly, Hajia Saadatu Danladi, Wife of the Chief Judge Mrs Olufunke Adebara, Deputy Chief of staff government house, Princess Bukola Babalola, Cabinet members and other top government officials, representatives from various political groups, students, teachers and Principals from the three senatorial districts, artisan groups, religious groups, amongst others.
