Veritas News Hub reports with heavy hearts the passing of Major General Abdullahi Mohammed (Rtd) (Adangba), a distinguished Nigerian statesman and former Chief of Staff to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Late President Umaru Musa Yar'adua. He succumbed to the will of Allah at the early hours of today, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 86.
The late General Abdullahi Mohammed had a storied career in public service, serving Nigeria in various capacities, including:
- Chief of Staff to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo (1999-2007) and Umaru Musa Yar'adua (2007-2008)
- National Security Adviser to General Abdulsalami Abubakar (1998-1999)
- Director General of the National Security Organization (1976-1979) during the military administration of General Olusegun Obasanjo
- Governor of Benue-Plateau State (July 1975-February 1976)
