A female staff member of Veritas News Hub, Ilorin, Kwara State, has spoken out about the traumatic experience she had during a robbery incident at the studio on November 22, 2025. The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, recounted how armed youths stormed the compound around 2 pm, taking the CEO hostage and threatening to kill her if she didn't cooperate.
According to the victim, the incident happened suddenly, with the robbers shouting and pointing guns at the CEO. "I was just hearing them shout, but what they were saying wasn't clear until I came out to see three of them with the CEO of Veritas News Hub pointing a gun at him," she said. "I rushed out to the situation, but just before I could turn back, one of them, with the name Sesan, threatened to kill me if I said a word."
The victim said she kept quiet and ran inside, locking the door behind her. The robbers tried to follow her, but she managed to escape harm. "I went to the window and saw how they harassed the CEO at gunpoint and carted away money and his phone and password," she added.
The phone was later found outside the gate, but the cash and other items taken by the robbers are yet to be retrieved. The victim expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Police Force, particularly the Anti-Cultism Unit, for their prompt response to the situation.
"We appreciate the Nigerian Police Force through the Anti-Cultism Unit for their prompt response to the situation," she said. "We hope the Kwara State Government will take serious steps to ensure the life and property of all Kwarans and Nigerians are protected."
