EKITI LOKAN: HON. DARE BANKOLE, DR. TOBA OLOYEDE, OTHERS BACK ZONING OF REPS SEAT TO EKITI AXIS

Kwara South APC stakeholders, aspirants unanimously endorse fairness and equity for Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency

ILORIN, Kwara State – Aspirants vying for the House of Representatives seat in the Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency have thrown their weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) decision to zone the seat to the Ekiti Axis, affirming the “Ekiti Lokan” position.

The agreement was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the Kwara South Senatorial Chairman of the APC and Board Member of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hon. Olabanji Olayemi MHR, at Ephonix Hotel, Flower Garden, Ilorin.

Among those present and in agreement were *Hon. Dare Bankole* and *Dr. Toba Oloyede*, alongside other aspirants including Prince Jesufemi Adeyemi Oyeyemi, Mrs. Florence Oyeyemi, Bashorun Kayode Bankole, Abiola AbdulKareem Jagunlabi, Gbenle Adeyemi, Dr. Alex Bankole, Gbenga Ajibola, and Hon. Ganiu Gabriel.

In his address, Hon. Olayemi emphasized that zoning the seat to the Ekiti Axis was a step toward fairness, equity, and political balance within the federal constituency. He acknowledged aspirants who had already obtained nomination forms but urged all to respect party supremacy and work for APC’s unity and progress.

The aspirants unanimously endorsed the decision. Speaking in support, Hon. Ganiu Gabriel, Mrs. Florence Oyeyemi, Bashorun Kayode Bankole, and Abiola AbdulKareem Jagunlabi noted that the Irepodun axis, predominantly Igbomina, has held the position for many years, while Isin Local Government served for four years. They argued that equity demands the seat now go to the Ekiti Axis.

“Party supremacy and unity must come first,” the aspirants stated, reaffirming their commitment to work together for the progress of the APC in Kwara South.

The meeting concluded peacefully with a closing prayer by Abiola AbdulKareem Jagunlabi.

Other party leaders at the meeting included Kwara State APC PRO, Alhaji Waheed Babatunde, and Kwara South Senatorial Secretary, Hon. Joseph O. Towoju.

The consensus signals a unified front for the APC in the federal constituency ahead of the 2027 elections, with stakeholders insisting that “Ekiti Lokan” is a matter of fairness and political balance.
