Hon. Barr. Oba Magaji AbdulKadir, Leader of the 10th Kwara State House of Assembly and Member representing Ilorin Central Constituency, has rolled out the 2025 third phase mega empowerment programme, benefiting 1,000 constituents. This initiative is a testament to his commitment to serving the people, regardless of party affiliation or background. The event, held at ECWA School, Oja-Iya, Ilorin, featured the distribution of items aimed at boosting small businesses and enhancing self-reliance. Over 250 people received items, including freezers, grinding machines, sewing machines, salon hair dryers, and popcorn machines, while more than 750 small-scale businesses benefited from cash support packages of 20k, 50k, and 100k.
Hon. Magaji's efforts were praised by Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi's deputy, Hon. Ojo Olayiwola, who urged beneficiaries to utilize the empowerment resources wisely, saying it's time to put the support to good use. He took the moment to warn those trying to tarnish the Governor and APC government with misleading information, stating that such actions would not be tolerated. He emphasized that there's room for constructive criticism, but not for misinformation that could harm the state.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Abdulrahaman Babatunde Shehu Ladan commended Barr. Oba Magaji for his impactful skills and spirit, saying, "We cannot recount his giving back to people; this is not bought praise, but even those who are not here could testify to your style of making a difference for your constituency and Kwarans."
Hon. Sulaiman Tejidini, Ilorin West APC, also praised the House Leader, saying, "Nobody does it like the House Leader; indeed, he's the 'Lord of Empowerment,' and we continue to support him. We also urge others to follow suit."
Hon. Magaji reaffirmed his dedication to human capital development and grassroots empowerment, stating that the initiative is part of his continuous effort to uplift households, support artisans, and strengthen economic resilience within Ilorin Central and beyond, which aligns with the vision of Gov. Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq's administration.
