The Kwara State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made history by winning the best overall performance award in drug supply, thanks to the exemplary leadership of its Commander, CN FA Popoola. This achievement marks a significant milestone, not only for the Kwara State Command, but also for the entire NDLEA, as CN Popoola becomes the first female commander to receive this prestigious award.
According to reports, the NDLEA has made tremendous progress in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking, with 45,853 suspects arrested, over 8.5 million kilograms of illicit drugs seized, and 9,263 offenders convicted in the past 30 months. The Kwara State Command, under CN Popoola's dynamic leadership, has been instrumental in this success, with notable achievements including the seizure of 2,642,103 kilograms of drugs and 133 convictions in 2024 alone.
