The Kwara for Kwarans Initiative has expressed condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, the family of the late Chief Imam, and the entire Ilorin Emirate on the passing of Muhammad Bashir Saliu Al-Fulani OON, the Chief Imam of Ilorin. The organization described the late cleric as an epitome of knowledge whose departure will leave a lasting impact on the people of Ilorin, particularly the council of Ulamah.
In a statement, Amb Kehinde Solomon, P.R.O of the Kwara for Kwarans Initiative, expressed sympathy for the unfortunate departure of the revered Islamic scholar, noting that his legacy will be remembered for generations to come. As a mark of respect, the organization has postponed all pending projects and programs across the state until after Ramadan.
The late Chief Imam, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu, was a highly respected Islamic scholar and spiritual leader who served as the 12th Chief Imam of Ilorin for over four decades. He was known for his wisdom, humility, and commitment to peace, and was widely admired for his guidance and leadership.
The Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and other prominent figures, including Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, have also paid tribute to the late Chief Imam, describing him as a towering figure in Islamic scholarship and a symbol of unity and harmony.
