Hon Femi Yusuf's Impact and Growth in Ifelodun Local Government by Kazeem Ayuba


The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadji Femi Yusuf, has continued to distinguish himself with a sterling performance and remarkable developmental strides across key sectors. His administration remains committed to delivering people-centered governance and sustainable growth under the visionary leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON. 

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in ilorin over the weekend by Hon Kazeem Ayuba, the Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government. 

In the area of infrastructure, Hadji Femi Yusuf has spearheaded the construction and rehabilitation of several roads, and across all the eighteen (18) wards in Ifelodun, significantly improving connectivity and easing transportation for residents and businesses within the local government.

Agricultural is also a major area where the administration has done excellently well, the refurbishment of five tractors to a standard, the LPRESS Programme where over 500 lfelodun indigent were trained and empowered on goat and other animals rearing and production of feeds.
It is worthy to mention the dry season farming which has kick-started at Lakanla community with vegetables been planted, the farm produce has already gotten potential buyers even before the harvesting. 

Education has also received a major boost under his leadership. The administration has renovated schools, provided learning materials, and introduced scholarship schemes to support more than 200 indigent students across higher institutions in kwara and beyond, distributions of exercise books across public schools, ensuring that no child is left behind in accessing quality education. 

Quality Healthcare delivery has been strengthened through the upgrade of primary health centers, provision of essential drugs with the start up of ten million naira as drugs revolving scheme and free medical outreach programs, all aimed at enhancing the well-being of citizens and reducing mortality rates.

Provision of portable and clean water is another laudable achievements of Hadji Femi Yusuf's administration where he provided Solar borehole water at various communities such as Adanla, Oro Ago, handpump bore at Omupo ward


On security, the Chairman has collaborated with the State Government, relevant Federal Security agencies especially the Army, Office of the NSA, Police, local vigilantes and Nigeria Navy to improve community policing.
He also procured security gadgets, motorcycles and support vigilante groups, newly recruited forest guards, towards ensuring a safer and more secure environment for residents.

In sports, Hadji Femi Yusuf has promoted youth engagement through local tournaments and the yearly Chairman's Cup towards discovering and nurturing talents that can represent the local government at state and national levels.

Welfare remains a top priority for the administration. Regular empowerment programs, financial support for petty traders, and social intervention schemes have been rolled out to uplift vulnerable groups and improve livelihoods.

The Executive Chairman, through his visionary leadership, has set Ifelodun Local Government on a path of inclusive development. His achievements reflect a commitment to transparency, accountability, and service to the people which reflects on the All Progressives Congress (APC) policies and programs.
