The attention of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara South has been drawn to a purported announcement and circulation of results relating to the APC House of Representatives Primary Election for Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Irepodun/Isin Federal Constituency.
We wish to categorically state that the said announcement, allegedly made by agents of one of the aspirants is against the Constitution of APC stipulated at Article 20 : of the party's constitution that the National Working Committee (NWC) holds the ultimate authority to organize, supervise, and ratify the declaration of results for all primary elections
For the avoidance of doubt, agents of aspirants are not constitutionally empowered or authorized to declare or announce election results on behalf of the party. The responsibility for the official declaration and announcement of results rests solely with the National Electoral Committee of the party from Abuja and other duly accredited national officials assigned for the conduct of the primary election
This unauthorized action constitutes a serious embarrassment to the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and undermines the integrity and credibility of the party’s internal democratic processes.
We urge all party faithful and stakeholders to remain calm, law-abiding, and await official communication from the appropriate national authorities of the party.
