The Presidency has pledged its support for Nigeria’s hosting of the 2026 World Public Relations Forum in Abuja, an international conference expected to attract about 3,000 delegates from 126 countries from November 15 to 21, 2026.
The assurance was given by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, during a meeting with the forum’s planning committee led by the President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Dr. Ike Neliaku.
The conference, hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in partnership with the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, will focus on responsible communication and the role of public relations in building trust and shaping Nigeria’s image before a global audience.
For Nigeria, the forum represents an opportunity to showcase its culture, strengthen its international reputation and promote a more accurate narrative about the country.
The event is also expected to feature the proposed Abuja Declaration, while Zambia’s President, Hakainde Hichilema, is expected to deliver the keynote address.
Nigeria’s hosting of the forum marks a significant moment for the country’s public relations industry and makes Abuja the centre of global discussions on communication and reputation management in November.
