ABUJA – The Chairman of the Tinubu Re-election Action Group, TRAG, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s return to office in 2027 is "certain and non-negotiable," citing visible policies, ongoing reforms, and nationwide development projects as evidence that Nigerians will reward the administration with a second term.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Veritas News Hub in Abuja, TRAG Chairman Hon. Usman Badeiri said the momentum behind the Tinubu presidency has continued to grow across the 36 states and the FCT, arguing that the reforms already implemented have laid a foundation that requires continuity to reach full impact.
“2027 is certain,” Badeiri stated. “When you look at the policies and the development going on across all states and spheres in Nigeria, it is clear that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered. What he needs now is the opportunity to perfect the good works he began.”
Badeiri, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Borno State, said the Tinubu administration inherited deep structural challenges but has moved decisively to address them within two years.
He pointed to economic reforms, infrastructure expansion, student loan programs, renewed oil and gas investment, and security interventions as key areas where the government has recorded progress.
“Leadership is about making tough decisions for long-term gain,” he said. “The removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of the exchange rate, and the push for local manufacturing are not popular overnight, but they are necessary. Today we are seeing the results in increased revenue to states, renewed investor confidence, and projects coming back to life across the country.”
According to him, TRAG has been monitoring federal projects and grassroots feedback since 2023, and the data shows growing public support, especially as palliatives and social investment programs begin to cushion the effects of the reforms.
Badeiri, who hails from Borno State, said the North-East region in particular has seen renewed federal attention under President Tinubu, and that this will translate to votes in 2027.
“Borno and Nigeria as a whole will repay President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with re-election,” he assured. “In Borno, we have seen federal support for reconstruction, for our farmers, for security operations, and for youth empowerment. People remember who stood with them in difficult times.”
He noted that the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda aligns with the needs of communities in the North-East that are recovering from over a decade of insurgency. “It is not just about roads and bridges. It is about restoring dignity, creating jobs, and giving our young people hope again. That is what this government is doing,” Badeiri added.
The Tinubu Re-election Action Group, according to Badeiri, was formed to mobilize support, defend the administration’s policies, and ensure that Nigerians understand the long-term vision behind the current reforms.
“Our job is to take the message to the grassroots,” he said. “We are engaging traditional rulers, youth groups, women organizations, and political stakeholders across party lines. The conversation is no longer about party. It is about performance and continuity.”
Badeiri dismissed speculation about internal opposition within the ruling APC, saying the party remains united behind the President. He also urged members of the opposition to judge the government on results rather than rhetoric.
“We welcome competition, but Nigerians are smart. In 2027 they will ask: who started these projects? Who had the courage to take the hard decisions? Who is building for the next generation? The answer is President Tinubu,” he said.
The TRAG Chairman called on Nigerians to remain patient as the full benefits of the reforms materialize, stressing that nation-building is a process that cannot be completed in one term.
“No serious country develops in four years. The USA, the UK, Rwanda, even our neighbors took time. Mr. President has started well. Let us allow him to finish what he started so that Nigeria can take its rightful place,” Badeiri urged.
He concluded by saying TRAG will be expanding its operations to all states in the coming months, with town halls, media campaigns, and voter education drives aimed at ensuring a peaceful and successful election in 2027.
“As far as we are concerned, the verdict has already been written by the work on ground. 2027 is certain,” Badeiri reaffirmed.
