AbdulRazaq Appoints Ex-Rep Mashood Mustapha as Kwara’s 2027 Ameerul Hajj

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the appointment of Alhaji Mashood Mustapha, the Wakili of Ilorin Emirate and former member of the House of Representatives, as Ameerul Hajj for the state’s 2027 Muslim pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Mustapha, popularly known as MM, will lead Kwara’s delegation and coordinate the state’s 2027 Hajj operations in collaboration with relevant statutory bodies and government agencies at various levels.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola, Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the appointee is an entrepreneur, public servant and community leader. He is also Chairman of Crystal Group of Companies and previously served as a cabinet member.

Mustapha represented his constituency in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015. He is also an alumnus of Kwara State Polytechnic, Lagos State University and Rome Business School, Italy.

As Ameerul Hajj, Mustapha is expected to work with the relevant authorities to coordinate the state’s pilgrimage arrangements and oversee the interests and welfare of Kwara pilgrims during the 2027 Hajj exercise.

The appointment follows the state's designation of an Ameerul Hajj for the 2026 pilgrimage, when the Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa Goshi II, led Kwara's contingent.
