MariPay Records Over ₦106 Million in Transaction Volume in First 90 Days

Emerging Nigerian fintech processes more than 34,000 transactions as it completes its first quarter of operations

ILORIN, KWARA STATE — September 1, 2026

MariPay, a digital payments platform developed by Marigan Space Limited, has recorded more than ₦106 million in transaction volume within its first 90 days of operations, marking a significant milestone for the emerging Nigerian fintech.

The company announced that it has processed 34,000+ transactions and registered 342 users during its first quarter, with the platform currently available on the Google Play Store. MariPay’s iOS application is also awaiting publication.

The milestone comes approximately three months after MariPay commenced operations, as the company works to establish itself within Nigeria’s increasingly competitive digital payments market.

MariPay was built around a simple objective: to make moving money simpler. Its platform provides access to digital financial services including money transfers, bill payments, wallet services and merchant payments.

From Launch to ₦106 Million+

According to the company, MariPay’s growth during its first quarter reflects increasing transaction activity and early adoption of its platform.

Rather than focusing solely on user acquisition, the company has placed emphasis on actual transaction activity and building a payments infrastructure capable of supporting sustained growth.

Commenting on the milestone, Saheed Abodunrin, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MariPay, said:

“Our first quarter has been about proving that we can build, launch and serve real users. Processing over ₦106 million in transaction volume within our first 90 days is a major milestone for us, but we see it as the beginning, not the destination.”

He added that the company is now focused on converting its early traction into sustainable long-term growth.

Entering the Next Phase

As MariPay enters its second quarter, the company plans to focus on expanding its customer base, strengthening its technology and operational infrastructure, broadening platform availability and developing strategic partnerships within the financial services ecosystem.

The company also sees regulatory readiness and infrastructure development as important components of its long-term ambition to become a major Nigerian payments platform.

“Our first 90 days gave us the opportunity to validate the product in the real market,” Abodunrin said. “The next phase is about scale, reliability, partnerships and building the foundation for the bigger MariPay we envision.”

With its first-quarter milestone achieved, MariPay says it will continue to measure its progress not only by the number of users it attracts, but by the value it creates for individuals and businesses using its platform.
