 2 Years in Office: Hon.Barr Oba Mogaji Reflects on Achievements

As we reflect and celebrate two years of positive impact, I thank Almighty Allah for everything on the journey so far. I also extend my gratitude to my leader, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdularazaq CON, whose unprecedented developments in Kwara over the past six years have aligned with our achievements, further solidifying our collective efforts to build a better community.

I am proud of the progress we have made in the past two years. I will continue to work tirelessly to improve the lives of my constituents and support the development of our community.

After my brother's passing, I honored a call to represent Ilorin Central Constituents. I would like to request prayers for the late Hon. (Alh.) Olawoyin Magaji Abubakar, whose lasting legacy we continue to uphold. He was not just a brother to me but a leader whose love and care for people are worthy of emulation.

During our campaign, we visited and listened to the concerns of all the 52 zones across the five wards (Magaji, Baboko, Badari, Oko Erin, and Warah Osin Egbejila Ward) that constitute Ilorin Central Constituency, popularly known as Magaji Ngeri constituency. We took note of their needs and promised to take responsibility in our own capacity.

Over the past two years, we have prioritized the welfare of our people, and many of the requests they made during our visits to their communities have been taken care of. We have been engaging our people, concerned stakeholders, and consistently making ourselves accessible for both individual and general development of our society.

As a legislator, I have demonstrated proactive leadership in shaping not only our constituency but also the lives of our people in the state. Some of my notable legislative achievements include:

- Urging the government to take measures against Diphtheria outbreaks

- Advocating for controlled waste disposal and flood mitigation

- Supporting relief efforts for fire outbreak victims

- Regulating the sale and display of drugs and medicines

- Advocating for flexibility in school fee payments and increased subventions

As a politician, a scorecard is not just a record but a reflection of a good representation journey and a better guide to laying the bedrock for robust and significant development in our community. Below are a few of our significant contributions over the past two years:

- Supported 7 out the 12 Ilorin West ward chairmen's logistics with motorcycles

- Empowered over 20 constituents with motorcycles 

- Supported 300 constituents with POS machines and start up funds

- Offered cash relief empowerment to ward women leaders and association women leaders

- Providing cash palliative to 52 zones chairmen and women leaders

- Empowered 500 constituents with various items, including hair dryers, deep freezers, and grinding machines

- Trained 120 constituents on skill acquisition with federal government-recognized certificates

- Facilitated over 20 motorized boreholes and repairing numerous hand boreholes and motorized boreholes

- Provided solar-powered streetlights to various communities

- Supporting education through payment of UTME registration fees, WAEC and NECO fees, and PTA levies

- Offering free holiday lessons and free JAMB registration fees

- Distributing cash palliative to thousands of people and providing weekly financial assistance to selected constituents

- Appointed 13 legislative aides from the constituency

- Providing support to constituents in need, including hospital bills and admission into higher institutions

- Distributed cash palliative funds and POS machines to people with disabilities

- Supporting farmers with fertilizers and chemical maize seeds

- Graded of roads
