STOWAWAY CAUGHT HIDING BETWEEN AIRCRAFT TYRES AT ILORIN AIRPORT

Veritas News Hub - Security personnel at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin, Kwara State, have apprehended a stowaway who attempted to hide between aircraft tyres in a bid to escape the country.

According to reports, the suspect, identified as Segun Martins, gained unauthorized access to the operational area and climbed onto an Overland aircraft that was about to taxi for takeoff, believing it was bound for the United States of America.

The incident occurred at approximately 1502 hours on Wednesday, and the suspect was caught hiding between the aircraft tyres.

Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect's actions were a serious security breach.

The authorities are currently investigating the incident and have taken the suspect into custody.

This incident highlights the need for heightened security measures at airports to prevent such attempts.
